Hi!  My name is Melissa Kirkendall.  I recently graduated with my masters in elementary education from Marymount University, and I am now a new 2nd grade teacher in Fairfax County.  I was lucky enough to spend the last four months of the last school year with a marvelous second grade class.  This fall I will continue my journey with my very own class of beautiful little second graders.  I am excited to go to work each day to see what the kids will teach me, as I know I learn as much from them as they do from me. 🙂

When I am not studying or teaching I love spending time with my family, coaching gymnastics, doing choreography for musicals, watching TV, playing with my daughter and my dog, and relaxing.  I love the beach, the mountains and traveling and much as I can!!! I live in Fairfax with my husband Jeremy, my daughter Annabelle and our dog Oliver.

I am new to this adventure of blogging.  Thanks for stopping by and hopefully we will all learn together.

Have a great day! 🙂
